the jewel box is one of my favorite places to see a show (now that the smoking ban is in effect!). the tiny room makes for an intimate atmosphere and they have pretty good food, to boot (at least the mac and cheese, calamari, and yam fries that i've tried). service can be pretty spotty during a show (and good luck getting your bill afterwards!) so sometimes it helps to go to the bar and place an order (or better yet, send someone else to do it). from what i understand, they pour fairly stiff drinks and make a mean lemon drop. i personally enjoy their tasty (and cheap! $1!) shirley temples. yum!
